Welcome to BookSmart!

Booksmart started as a place where I would keep writing samples, policy memos, and briefs to send potential employers. Then, it morphed into me using it as a diary, where I would continue to write literature and policy analyses but also deep dives into the subject matters on my mind. Moreover, this blog is about the average girl, bringing her perspective on pop culture, politics, and other life happenings to the table. Inciting conversation, I want to be as open with you as possible as I write my reactions and reflections on the current discussions of the world and release my mind from the many thoughts that spiral throughout the day, blurting out opinions or quick comebacks that might linger to my roommate in the safety of my apartment. This time, I’m just spilling them to you. I want to be clear - this isn’t just about sharing opinions; it’s about creating a dialogue that’s been missing. Each newsletter is a chance to dissect, discuss, and delve into the nuances of what’s happening around us, guided by my (perhaps snarky?) perspective.
